How to sew on a button

For those of you wanting to know the proper way to sew on a button. First part they are show casing street artists and its very cool. Towards the end is the button part. There's some cursing-it doesn't bleeping bother me ; ) - but just warning you.

Blind Hem Stitch

Graffiti Lace

Another Thread Banger video on how to make graffiti lace. As always, when she's done there's extra footage of other things not related to the diy of the graffiti lace.

Serger Help

Just a quick tutorial on what is a serger and how to thread it from Thread Banger. After they are finished with the serger there are non serger related items so the whole video is not just the serger.

Pinwheel Patchwork quilt

Back of Quilt-click on picture for better view Pinwheel Pattern-My own pattern-click on picture for better view Now I don't make quilts hardly. Just around Xmas as gifts but not the fancy ones. This I made about 6 years ago using scraps. The scraps came from many fabrics that I had used previously to sew my kids clothes. I did end up buying a few pieces of fabric to finish it, including the backing. Can't you see all the cartoon characters on there from Harry Potter, Winnie the Pooh, Blue's Clue, Clifford, Snoopy, Superman, etc. Well you can't just trash the lovely left over pieces. So I ended up making this. I also included photos on fabric for the top blocks. My kids pictures are at the top which you might not be able to see. I cut the fabric out with scissors. I know its a no no for quilters but you know my kids(especially a baby) safety is more important. Want to make one? Here's a link on how to do pinwheel quilts@ http://quilting.about.com/od/blockofthemonth/ss/frame_pinwheel_3.htm

What I am working on

I almost finished this belly dance fringe belt. I just had left over yarn and felt like making one. Now I am debating to keep it or sell it. I'm looking to make a belly dance item(probably a skirt) with these pieces of fabric. I'm thinking a skirt with my brocade stash added. This necklace is for me but I have a lot more things to add to it -perhaps even polymer clay beads.

Lots of new stuff

I couldn't pass these necklaces up that I found at Goodwill for 98 cents. They are going on my next belly dance Bra. I gave in and bought some fabric at Joanns. Clearance of course.

Patchwork skirt

Skirt made by Crafty Intentions-more photos @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/craftyintentions/sets/72157606362468688/detail/ This skirt is absolutely stunning gorgeous. I love it and I already started on something like this but not all the colors again since I made something similar before. Just looking at this skirt makes me smile. Could you imagine buying all those luscious fabrics??? This was made by Crafty Intentions and she does have an etsy store @ http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5872773

Easy Xmas Gifts

Need to get started on Xmas presents? I'll try to post a project at least once a week to get you started. Make your items early this year and make them for the people closet to you who will appreciate your hard work.

If your not a diy person and usually buy your items please shop at www.etsy.com for handmade items. Shop local on etsy while sitting in your pjs and find unique gifts while supporting local artists .
Back to the Xmas project. Use multicolored yarn for a great scarf.

Catwoman

You can see the animated version of these @ www.geocities.com/clarkent188/Catwoman_animat... I made a costume like this a while ago. This is Jim Balent's version of the Catwoman costume that was in the comics until a couple or more years ago. I like this costume better than the lastest one with the goggles and zipper front. Oh , I thought Deb you would get a kick out of this since I told you about my bull whip and that other conversation about it.

Irish Penny Headpiece

Project Level-Intermediate to Advance
 Project List-
1.Irish Pennies
2.Copper Chain
3.Split Copper Rings 8mm

I started this piece after I finished drilling the coins for my coin bra. I made this drilling holes in my coins.previous blog on drilling coins@from blog from tribe-http://people.tribe.net/erikaschiquis/blog/e3548950-5725-4cbc-92d8-e6db989fc830
I connected them with the split rings. I had one chain that goes around my head and two chains at the top to make it sturdier. On the chains I added a few coins here and there to balance the look.
Here's a pic of me wearing it@
for tribe (since your only allowed one pic on the blog)
